EPS Global, one of the world’s largest Programming and Secure Provisioning service providers, announced that it has joined Nuvoton’s Security Partner Ecosystem, making its secure provisioning services available to Nuvoton customers worldwide.
Since security and power consumption are key requirements in IoT applications, Nuvoton has developed security-enabled MCUs which provide chip-level physical security with ultra-low-power performance. Through EPS, Nuvoton’s customers can seamlessly access a global network of secure programming centers to service their data programming and secure provisioning requirements for Nuvoton devices, from prototypes to high volume. Devices supported include:
The Nuvoton NuMicro M2351 microcontroller series is powered by Arm Cortex-M23 core with TrustZone for Armv8-M architecture, which elevates the traditional firmware security to a new level of robust software. The low-power M2351 series microcontroller operates at up to 64 MHz frequency, with up to 512 Kbytes embedded Flash memory in dual bank mode, supporting secure OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates and up to 96 Kbytes embedded SRAM.
NuMicro M2354 Series is also Arm Cortex-M23 based and can operate up to 96 MHz with embedded 1 Mbytes Flash and 256 Kbytes SRAM memory. M2354 Series inherits the security features of M2351 Series that have been PSA Certified Level 1, Level 2, and PSA Functional API Certified. In addition to the Armv8-M TrustZone feature with outstanding low-power consumption performance, it equips the countermeasures to its hardware crypto accelerators for Side-Channel Attacks and mitigation to the fault injection attacks of voltage and clock glitches. The overall features can ensure an MCU application system supporting Storage Security, Software Execution Security, and Connectivity Security.
“Systems Engineers are under pressure to develop innovative IoT products capable of performing secure data connections while maintaining low power consumption,” said Colin Lynch, CEO of EPS Global. “Our collaboration with Nuvoton helps us offer straightforward solutions to customers’ security challenges, helping them to develop and deploy secure and power-efficient IoT products using the best of Nuvoton’s technology, delivered through EPS’s service centers. Our solution is secure, cost-effective, scalable, and available from EPS’s network of secure programming centers, conveniently located in all major electronic manufacturing clusters worldwide.”
“Integration of secure technology at a hardware level is essential for future IoT devices to be trusted. Nuvoton’s IoT Security MCU series offers ease for the anticipated millions of IoT developers using our innovations in the field of microcontrollers to build and scale, while still solving the needs for small, energy-efficient IoT node devices,” said Jason Lin, VP of Microcontroller Application Business Group. “Our collaboration with EPS Global can simplify the last mile for our customers to comply with security targets for their IoT applications that are potentially to be commissioned on a global scale.”
As we are all aware, IoT security is getting more and more attention. Almost every country or region is formulating security and safety regulations for the management of IoT devices. We believe that only through the power of the industrial ecosystem can we propose appropriate solutions to assist various types of network-connected devices that face increasingly complex security challenges and regulations. The partnership between EPS Global and Nuvoton is a very good example, and we look forward to serving more customers together, in order to achieve a secure, safe and smart life for everyone.
